17 year & 15 year Records Broken at 142nd Annual Club Championships

Sunday 15th July was the day that the club used a new format for the Club Championships which incorporated the 142nd Annual Club Championships and for the first time the Annual Mini Gala.

There are too many events to report individually but the full results are now listed on the club website.

There was some brilliant swimming not only by the club swimmers but also the Pelican Centre Stage 3; Stages 4 – 6 and Stage 7 swimmers.

The swimmer of the championships was Rachel Hornby who broke 4 club records in the:-

Girls 14 years & under 100m Breaststroke, a record that had stood for 17 years, in a time of 1.17.94;

Ladies Open Age 100m Breaststroke in a time of 1.17.94, a record that had stood for 15 years.

Girls 14 years 100m Individual Medley in a time of 1.11.25

Ladies Open Age 200m Breaststroke in a time of 2.42.56

WELL DONE TO all swimmers who took part in the day and also to all the volunteers who gave up their valuable “family time” to support on poolside.

The club would also like to CONGRATULATE the following swimmers who have the “honour” of competing at the British Championships and English Nationals (being held at Ponds Forge, Sheffield) at the end of July:-

Good Luck to you all.
